Something a lot of people say to me when I bump into them out and about is “how many bands are you in now?”
I don’t know why I end up in so many bands.
I have trouble saying no to stuff, let me rephrase that actually. I have trouble saying no to GOOD stuff. I think I’m pretty good when it comes to saying no to BAD stuff.
All of the musical projects are with good people I enjoy spending time with and who are doing things musically I want to be involved with. Finding time to work on it is tough sometimes, especially as most of it is unpaid and a labour of love, but it always works out.
Here’s what I’m up to/have been up to this year:
- Regular touring with Lo! including an Australian tour with US band Cult Leader and appearances at Big Sound, Progfest, Dead of Winter, and Brewtality festivals
- Filled in on drums with Sumeru for the tour with Lo! when Andreas their drummer broke his leg the night before the first show of the tour
- Writing new music with Lo! and planning to record the follow up to our last album ‘Vestigial’ in early 2020, planning to get back to Europe and Japan to tour again
- Recording a new album with Slowly Building Weapons at 301 studios in January 2020. Putting the finishing touches on the songs now.
- Australian tour with Australia Über Alles the Australian Dead Kennedy’s tribute show in December 2019
- Played drums, recorded and mixed the debut track ‘Disgrace’ with Burial Pit burialpit.bandcamp.com/releases
- Playing shows with Burial Pit and working on another track to release and writing new songs (they’re all about 9 minutes long so we’re releasing a song at a time haha)
- Played an album tour with power thrash metal veterans LORD earlier this year
- Appeared in the LORD music video youtu.be/kCV0vXFxUzA
- Recorded drums on an EP with The Wvlf, a thrash band featuring members of Truth Corroded and Harlott (yet to be released)
